Maria Verdino shared it on her timeline on Facebook. She also tagged a few of her musician friends, thinking maybe one of them could maybe help. Roger Rayburn was one of those she tagged. Roger reached out to the soldier that created the post and soon after he received a call from Captain Hike stationed in Afghanistan. From that conversation the idea for Guitar Heroes USA was born.

The Advisory Board of Guitar Heroes USA determined that working with the Chaplaincy Service of the armed forces would be the best way to make sure the guitars would be able to best be used by soldiers abroad. The Advisory Board of Guitar Heroes USA determined that working with the Chaplaincy Service of the armed forces would be the best way to make sure the guitars would be able to best be used by soldiers abroad. Guitar Heroes USA connects with Chaplains serving overseas and domestically to insure the guitars are put to good use. We also want to make sure the the Chaplains have the supplies they will need for the guitars that are sent. Therefore every guitar sent includes a guitar case, extra strings, picks, capo, electronic tuner, strap, and even a peg winder! Guitars are also prayed over before they are deployed.

Roger Rayburn is the Founder of Guitar Heroes USA. He has a strong background in Ministry, Music, and Non-Profit Organizations. Roger has a Master's in Ministry from Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University. He himself is a guitar player and has a passion for bringing people together through music.

The Advisory Board of Guitar Heroes USA consists of likeminded individuals who caught the vision of what Guitar Heroes USA could be and wanted to come along and be a part of this ministry to those serving our country. The current Advisory Board Members are Jake Stamper, Edward Cole, Link Denton, David Allbritton, and Andy Brown.
